Barcelona-based fashion and furniture designer Hiske ter Veld (Amsterdam, 1982) has started her unique studio shop Aizuri, two years after she launched her own label Hiske ter Veld.
In 2008 Hiske ter Veld graduated with honours from the Insituto di Design in Barcelona. She received considerable praise for her thesis collection Lost Glory as it was exhibited at the renowned Bread and Butter fashion fair in 2008 and selected for Project Tesis of Moda Fad.
Hiske ter Veld is driven by a notion of timelessness in her design. This seems to have been spurred by how the teenage aspiring fashion designer invents her first creations: cutting up old curtains and using vintage patterns to make something entirely new. Years of exploration led to an expressive and elegant designer label which connects original and accesible women’s wear to tailor-made furniture and accessories.
